Sandcastles (Explained)

“Sandcastles” is a song off of Beyonce’s latest album (Lemonade). That is where my previous entry’s title derived from. This is definitely an applicable love song for those (like me) who verbally express that they’re through with love, because life has a remarkable way of having your actions prove otherwise. The lyrics are as follows:

We built sand castles
That washed away
I made you cry
When I walked away
And although I promised
That I couldn’t stay
Every promise don’t work out that way
Every promise don’t work out that way

Dishes smashed on my counter
From our last encounter
Pictures snatched out the frame
Bitch I scratched out your name
And your face
What is it about you?
That I can’t erase baby
When every promise don’t work out that way
No no baby
When every promise don’t work out that way

And your heart is broken
Cause I walked away
Show me your scars
And I won’t walk away
And I know I promised that I couldn’t stay
Every promise don’t work out that way
Every promise don’t work out that way

Here is a really dope cover to “Sandcastles.” I listened to it on repeat as I wrote the last entry. Check it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2RvSlZXkFhs (and skip to the 1:00 mark to get straight to the music!)
