Haunted: The Explanation

Hello all! I just wanted to take a couple of minutes to explain my most recent posts. I had writer’s block so I hadn’t been updating my blog like usual, but I hope I made up for my lack of new material with the visual project I just revealed.

The five photos that you see prior to me writing this entry tell a story. Director/Photographer Kaila Boulware and I collaborated for a photo-shoot that ended up signifying so much more than a girl in front of a camera. When Kaila and I were trying to come up with a story-line for our shoot, we were struggling with specifics. We wanted the woman I portrayed to be completely broken, but we needed to determine the “why.” It wasn’t until Kaila suggested that I use my own writing to serve as the captions for the photos, that everything came together. This campaign shows a woman dealing with the aftermath of a tumultuous and toxic relationship with a man, leading up to her finding “redemption.” The captions were selected to accommodate each picture, and the poems they originated from can be found on this site! Hint: The story begins with the first picture of me in the bathtub and ends with the picture of me laughing. With that said, I hope you guys are pleased with the end-result. I will be posting a short clip later, which wraps up the second half of the shoot. It was our aim to bridge my love for modeling and my love for words together, and we hope we did just that. Stay tuned for what else is to come! As always, feedback is greatly appreciated!

Much love,
